A Wildflower Member School · Nashville, TN

Where Children
Flourish Freely

A teacher-led, community-embedded Montessori microschool rooted in Nashville — and in the belief that every child is fundamentally curious, peaceful, and good.

Sage Montessori of Nashville is a proud member of the Wildflower Schools network — over 80 teacher-led Montessori microschools across the US.

Our Foundation

Rooted in
Deep Trust

We believe children are fundamentally peaceful, curious, and good. Our classroom is designed so that truth can unfold on its own — through hands-on materials, mixed-age community, and educators who follow the child rather than the curriculum.

We believe the same things about teachers. Sage Montessori is teacher-led because schools can only work for children and families when they truly work for educators too.

Our Approach

Follow the Child

Every child's learning pace and path is honored. Materials invite exploration; adults observe and guide.

Mixed-Age Community

Three-year cycles build deep bonds and let children teach and learn from one another every day.

Community-Embedded

Nashville is our neighborhood and our classroom. Families, local partners, and culture all shape our school.

Proven Growth

Authentic Montessori practice produces measurable academic, social, and emotional development.

What We Offer

The Primary Program

Our Primary classroom serves children ages 3 through 6 in a carefully prepared Montessori environment. Learning unfolds across five key areas each day.

01

Practical Life

Pouring, buttoning, sweeping — purposeful work that builds concentration, coordination, and independence.

02

Sensorial

Hands-on materials isolate qualities — color, weight, texture, sound — sharpening the senses for deeper learning.

03

Language

Spoken language, phonics, writing, and early reading emerge through materials designed to follow natural development.

04

Mathematics

Abstract concepts become concrete — children touch and count before they calculate, building genuine number sense.

05

Cultural Studies

Geography, biology, music, and art invite wonder and cultivate a child's sense of place in the wider world.

What Nashville Parents Say

"My daughter walked in hesitant on day one. Within a week she was showing me her work with so much pride. The teachers genuinely know her."
— Parent, Primary Class
"The mixed-age classroom was the thing I was most unsure about. Now I see my son helping younger kids, and I understand exactly why it works."
— Parent, 2nd Year Family
"What surprised me most was how calm the classroom is. Not silent — alive and busy — but deeply peaceful. You can feel that the children feel safe."
